The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, which operates Metro fixed-route and Access paratransit services, will hold a public meeting on Thursday, Dec. 7, 3-7 p.m. at the Duke Energy Convention Center, Jr. Ballroom C, to receive comments about a proposed Metro and Access fare increase.
SORTA fare increases also require Cincinnati City Council approval. The request to increase fares would be forwarded to the City as part of the 2018-2019 funding request in Spring 2018. If approved, the fare increase would be implemented on June 3, 2018.
The last Metro base fare increase was Dec. 27, 2009.
Proposed fare increases:
Metro’s Fare Deal program is for eligible older adults and people with disabilities. Child’s fare is for children 35-45” in height; under 35” ride free.
Fares for Metro service in Rt. 42X West Chester Express ($3.50), Rt. 82 Eastgate Express ($3.75), and Rt. 71X Kings Island Express ($4.25) are negotiated as part of contracts in those counties and would not be affected.
