In celebration of “Ohio Loves Transit Week,” Feb. 11-15, Metro, along with the Ohio Public Transit Association and transit systems across the state, is thanking riders for their support and encouraging new riders to fall in love with transit by giving Metro a try.
In Cincinnati and beyond, transit drives the economy, with national statistics showing that every $1 invested in public transit generates $4 in economic return. Every day, tens of thousands of people depend on Metro to get them to school, work, health care and other important destinations.
To encourage new riders to give the bus a try, Metro will hand out free ride tickets at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 13, on Government Square and Fountain Square.
Riders are encouraged to share on social media how public transportation impacts their lives using the hashtag #OhioLovesTransit and to keep an eye on Metro’s Facebook and Twitter accounts for chances to win prizes all week long.
For new riders, Metro offers a guide to using the bus, including using tools like the Cincy EZRide app and Transit App to plan, pay and track your bus in real-time at http://www.go-metro.com/how-to-ride.
